About The Event

Marcus-David Peters was a black VCU graduate and teacher who was going through a mental health crisis when he was killed by the Richmond, Virginia Police Department.

Police acknowledged Marcus, who was unarmed and going through mental distress, and RPD killed him anyways. Since his killing, nothing has changed and our community is still at risk.

We have made five demands, including the creation of a "Marcus Alert", so mental health professionals are the first responders to mental health crises rather than the Richmond Police Department.

On Saturday, October 13th the nation is coming out to support Justice and Reformation in marches and showing up and protesting the unjust police violence in our communities at Police Departments.
